The Lexington Cancer Foundation, Inc. (“LCF,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Kentucky 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation (Federal EIN #56-2472701). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through lexingtoncancerfoundation.org (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site you agree to the practices described below.

Information we collect

The Site is a static website with no user accounts, comments, or member area. The only information we collect directly is what you choose to send us through the contact form: your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message. Submissions are delivered to us by email; we do not store them in any database on the Site.

Our web server records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the pages you visit. This information is used to operate the Site securely and to diagnose problems, and is retained only for as long as our host's normal log rotation.

Donations

Online donations are processed by our third-party payment processor. When you click a Donate button, you are redirected off our Site to the processor's own secure checkout page. We do not receive or store your credit card number, CVV, or other full payment details. We do receive donor contact information (name, email, mailing address, and gift amount) so we can acknowledge your gift, send receipts required for tax purposes, and communicate about our work.

You may also give by mail or by phone using the information on our Donate page. Gifts made by check are recorded in our donor records for the same purposes.

How we use your information

We use the information you share with us to:

• Respond to inquiries you send through the contact form
• Acknowledge donations and send tax receipts
• Communicate about our events, programs, and grant work
• Comply with our legal, accounting, and reporting obligations

Cookies and tracking

The Site does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We may in the future use limited first-party analytics to understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it; if we do, we will update this Policy.

Links to other sites

Our Site links to our profiles on Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), as well as to third-party services such as our payment processor and email service. Those services have their own privacy policies, which govern any information you share with them once you leave our Site.

Sharing your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information with vetted service providers who help us operate the Site, send email, process donations, and produce mailings for LCF; those providers are permitted to use the information only to perform services for us. We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of LCF, our supporters, or others.

Data retention

We retain the information you share with us only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law and by our donor record-keeping obligations as a nonprofit.

Your choices

You may ask us to review, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you may opt out of our communications at any time by contacting us using the information below. Requests are handled promptly and free of charge.

Children's privacy

The Site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Security

The Site is served over HTTPS with a valid TLS certificate. We take reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect the information you share with us. No online transmission or storage is ever completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or to legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” at the top of this page.
