Endowment Fund Donation
Endowment gifts guarantee financial support will remain readily available for the future needs of LCF. Gifts to this fund are permanently invested to provide a steady, annual source of funds for the purpose agreed upon by the donor. Endowed funds are critical to the financial stability of LCF. Present and future revenue streams, which endowed funds generate, allow LCF to continue in the mission to create awareness and to raise funds in the fight against cancer.
Wende Bell Garden
In 2014, The Lexington Cancer Foundation Healing Garden at the UK Markey Cancer was created as a place of respite and reflection. It was designed for patients and their loved ones, physicians, scientists, and staff as a peaceful, supportive place to connect with nature. The garden is named in Memory of Wende Bell, a Board Member of LCF. She was a remarkable mother, wife, and friend to many, as well as an avid gardener. The garden follows the principles of healing and therapy garden design as certified by the Chicago Botanical Garden. Gifts can be made directly to LCF to support ongoing maintenance of this beautiful location for years to come.
Gifts in Honor and Memory
LCF will send a letter to the person you indicate, suitable for the occasion, informing the individual or family that you have made a gift in his/her memory/honor. We will not disclose the amount of the gift unless requested to do so by you. You will also receive acknowledgment of your gift.
Janice Jones Giving Fund
In 2006, LCF created the Janice Jones Giving Fund in honor of the wife of equestrian John T. L. Jones who lost her battle several years ago to ovarian cancer. The fund generates donations from the sales of stallions by Ashford Stud in Versailles. In May 2008, the Hope Lodge Campus was renamed the Janice Jones Campus. All donations to the Janice Jones Giving Fund benefit the Hope Lodge, a no-cost living facility for cancer patients receiving treatment in Lexington. Gifts can be made directly to the Janice Jones Giving Fund.
